Time: 19:00P.M.~21:30p.m.

Meeting Theme: Moon Festival

Attendant Guests (2 persons): Wayne Dai, Sharon Lin

Attendant members: 12 persons

President: Austin Chien

Austin just came back Taiwan from a short trip in Korea. He looked quite energetic and well-prepared for
our meeting. From his firm and steady opening and closing remarks, our meeting No. 320 ran smoothly with happy air.

Manual Speech : (Master: Sarah Chang)

Sarah introduced each speaker and session master in proper and accurate words, she also gave us the chance to meditate the meaning of Moon Festival and correlation between B.B.Q and Moon Festival. What a wise lady she is!

1. Vincent Chien (C4):Strandbeest (How to Say It)

Because of overtime performance in August, Vincent did C4 speech again by asking the pronunciation of the word “Strandbeest” as his beginning. Vincent also showed us how to operate that interesting toy “Strandbeest” and notice to watch the time limit. Should he could control his nervousness well, his performance would be much better. Keep going on, Vincent.

2. Frank Chien (C5): Some Tips for Gaining Weight (Your Body Speaks)

Frank choose an top about gaining weight, which aroused some members envy, because he is so potential for adding some weight. But, how many of us have the same conditions like Frank? Frank used PPT with great pictures to show the tips, 3M and 2L, which make his speech quite easy to be understood by the audience. Should there were some more vocal varieties during his delivery, it would be better.

Table Topic: (Master: Terence Ho)

Since the earthquake 921 happened thirteen years ago on Spet. 21st, so Terence led all audience to show their mourning in silence for 30 seconds, then started his story sharing and questions about Moon Festival.

1. If you were 嫦娥,what would you arrange in your moon/room? (Answered by John Lin)

2. Do you believe the legend of 嫦娥奔月, why or why not? (Answered by Austin Chien)

3. What will you eat during Moon Festival? (Answered by Tracy Yang)

4. How will you celebrate the Moon Festival this year? (Answered by Vincent Chien)

5. Do you have special experience about Moon Festival? When and how? (Answered by James Wu and Sharon Lin)

Evaluation: (Master: Tracy Yang)

1. Austin Chien: Austin noticed that Vincent was more confident and controlled the time better than his performance last time. He also suggested Vincent to watch his body movements and posture on the stage, so he could hide his tension or nervousness if there is any.

2. Mark Hwang: Without doubt, Mark is a professional evaluator since he knows how to compliment and give comments in humorous way. So, Frank, please keep Mark’s comments, “do more rehearsals on your body movements” to make your speech more attractive in your coming speeches.

Grammar Correction:

1. …I will take as much possible as I can…==I will take as much as I possible…==I will take as much as I can…

Since the language evaluator paid too much attention to all wonderful performances that he didn’t find many mistakes from the speakers. Congratulations to all of us!

General Evaluator’s Comments and Remarks:

1. Those who are assigned to be the receptionists, please come to our meeting room as early as possible and sit at the reception table for greeting members and guests. It’s a great time to introduce our club to guests briefly.

2. Our president, Austin, will e-mail us and inform us the venue of D3 area humorous speech contest and evaluation contest on Oct. 13th.

3. Members who forget to pay the membership due NTD4,500.00, please contact our treasure, Dennis, or EVP, Jimmy, or president Austin to make sure that you will maintain your membership and pay the due not late than Oct. 5th, at our next regular meeting.

4. STTC will have its in-club humorous speech and evaluation speech contests on Sept. 25th at 人道素食(九如路上), and KTC will its on Spet. 28th at 麗景酒店(五福路上,舊館), should the time is available, all members are encouraged to be audience and observe other members performances.

5. Some members are really busy working, so it’s a good chance for members who attend our meetings regularly write letters or send email to those who are always occupied and encourage them to show up as possibly as they can. YSTC needs every member’s participation and devotion to enhance the meeting quality and attract more new members.

Dear all, let’s work together and make our meetings better and improved time after time!!!
