Joke Session: Tracy Yang
To make the meetings more attractive and vivid, we had Joke Session today. Tracy started the session by sharing a funny story happened to her mom and a dog. Then she told another joke and invited some members or guests to deliver what they had in mind. Amy, Jeff, and guest Nelson, all shared an interested joke with the audience and made them laughing loud. Thank their kind assistance and hope our members can be braver to be the volunteer next time.
Manual Speech : (Master: Sophia Lin)
Sophia shared an example of presenting reasons for dos and don’ts to warm up the session and inspire the audience to have some ideas about the meeting theme.
1. John Lin(C3): What If You Have a Yelling Boss (Get to The Point )
John explained the definition of a yelling boss, then shared some stories between a yelling
boss and his/her team members. He also made the audience to think how to deal with that
kind of boss and had some suggestions for audience. Whatever we decided to do, make
ourselves a good tool for boss is our best benefit.
2. Terence Ho(C6): The Thought after a Wedding (Vocal variety)
From Terence’s speech, we heard several touching songs about love, all audience must
enjoyed it a lot. He then shared with audience some stories about his classmate and the
bride for the wedding ceremony he attended one week ago. Also, some feeling and ideas
about marriage were expressed.
Table Topic: (Master: Mark Huang)
Mark was really humorous to start the session by “torturing” members and guests to answer
all his questions.
1. Why did you make the decision to marry? (answered by John Lin, Judy Lai, and Casey Lin)
2. Why women like shopping so much? (answered by Sarah Chang)
3. Why you selected Mark Huang to be your advisor? (answered by Vincent Chien and
James Wu)
Evaluation: (Master: Austin Chien)
1. Sarah Chang: Sarah complimented John’s confidence and steadiness and suggested him
not to spend too much time defining a yelling boss but tried to share more vivid stories
and proper ways of dealing with some tough situations.
2. Amy Wang: Like a professional evaluator, Amy interpreted the subjective for C6 speech,
complimented Terence’s speech, and the had three comments for him:
a. Use wireless and make appropriate adjustment.
b. No need to present too many songs, share with the audience the speaker’s personal
feelings is more important.
c. The speech would be better if there were more rehearsals.
